Sigurlín frá Húsavík is a 7 year old dark bay mare. Her father is the four gaited stallion Hágangur frá Narfastöðum (8.31) and her mother is Miskunn frá Keldunesi 2. Sigurlín is the sister of the well-known competition horse, Sigur frá Hásavík. Sigurlín is not big but very talented. She has very good, even gaits with a great speed range. Her spirit and temperament are quite unique. She is always ready and always tries her best. At the same time, she is extremely easy to ride. Sigurlín can be ridden by almost anybody. She would be a suitable competition horse for a less experienced rider but could also do very well in a high level competition. She would also make the perfect trail riding horse. She is the daughter of the famous mare, Hrauna frá Húsavík (8.44), who is a sister to Kamban frá Húsavík, who has done extremely well with his young rider. They have won at the Icelandic Championships as well as Landsmót. Like Kamban Hrauney has a fabulous temperament. Hrauney's father is Aron frá Strandarhöfði (8.54). Aron has been one of the most successful breeding stallions in Iceland for years and is well-known for throwing good competition horses. Hrauney has been evaluated both as a four gaiter (receiving 9 for tolt) and a five gaiter (receiving 8.5 for tolt and pace). Hrauney has an amazing, clean tolt with a huge speed range. The first competition for The Champions League 2016 started with the Pace Race last saturday. Team Heimahagi had a good day at the competition and won the Team Shield in the 150m pace and is the leading team with the score of 98,5 in the league.
All our team members did great at the 150m pace test; Davíð Jónsson was in the 2nd place on Irpa frá Borgarnesi, they got the time 14,39 sek. Guðmar Þór Pétursson was in the 5th place on Ör frá Eyri and Ævar Örn Guðjónsson was in the 11th place on Blossi frá Skammbeinsstöðum. Sigurður V. Matthíasson won the 150m pace test on Léttir frá Eiríksstöðum, they got the time 14,34 sek. Team Heimahagi did also well at the PP1 pace test; Ævar Örn and Gjafar frá Þingeyrum were in the 6th place, with the score of 7,25 and Davíð and Irpa frá Borgarnesi were in the 8th place with the score of 7,17. Sigurbjörn Bárðarson won the PP1 pace test with the score of 8,17.
